Will a keyless remote that worked for one 1998 Chevy venture work for another with programming?
Yes it will. Google "Chevrolet keyless remote programming" to see if the reprogramming instructions are available on the web. (Ford transmitters can be reprogrammed at home - I have done it and it's easy. Not sure about Chevy though) If not - Go to the dealer for reprogramming.

Reply:yes but forget free..do call around some dealers charge 30 some 75..
Reply:It should, but the programming is far from free. A dealer will need to do this and it costs between $50 - $75 or so.
