How do be more interested in computer programming, I am totally not interested now?

I am currently a computer science student, and I have to do programming assignments. The problem is that I am totally not interested at all in programming. So how do I be more interested in what I am doing.

How do be more interested in computer programming, I am totally not interested now?
First off class programming assignments are only fun when you make it a game to build the first smallest fastest most interesting solution, try to make it the cleanest in the class. If you're not competitive try doing it while listening to music.

On the side you have to want to build stuff, I assume you've built models or drawn war pictures as a kid or played strategy games. Programming is about applying a strategy to solve a puzzle to win by making the bits, bytes and symbols do what you want them to better than the other guys solution or you copy theirs from open source credit them extend what they did and move on.

Build a web site on your fav hobbie and add some php to it.. Learn how to throw each assignment onto the page... Use stumbleupon with the tech / programming sections turned on. Pretend you're in Wargames, Hackers, or Tron.

If none of these things sound like fun to ya switch up your major.
Reply:This is more related to logical thinking. If you are interested in mathematics , then you will be interested in programming. To be interested solve puzzles, reasoning questions .
Reply:If you tend to be a very volatile person your interest in the computer science field might grow as you learn more about it. However, the chances that this is the case is probably very slim. All I'll say is don't be stuck doing something you lack interest in for the rest of your life. I assume you are just beginning college and there is plenty of time to discover other interests. If necessary, take a quarter/semester off from school and find out what you enjoy. You'll be thankful that you did over the next forty years.
Reply:Are you too good in programming? or are you not good in programming at all?

If you are good in programming already, then go learn something else. If you are not good in programming at all, then maybe we help a little.

I like to do programs that can control external devices. Try make a simple circuit with say 8 LEDs and put a battery and try to use your parralel port to make it blinks some funny pattern. I like the feeling when everything starts to work, and you will feel that with programming, you can control stuff.

That's how i like programming. Or you can try write a program that display one white dot in the screen and then make it move about in a random manner.

Silly isn't it. But remember knowledge you can learn from these silly practises can make you money.

Whatever you choose to learn, just have fun ok.
