What is the best and easiest way to learn a programming language?

Can you give me some ideas and tips

What is the best and easiest way to learn a programming language?
It depends which one you are taking about. If you have little programming experience learn HTML first and a little Java script and then you can choose between Java and C++. I find books a better way to learn because the web guides are not too thorough.
Reply:I think it really depends on what kind of learner you are. But one thing is sure - going to school is always a good way to do it.

If you can't - or don't want to - go to school, I would suggest getting a good beginner's book in a language like VB that is fairly easy to learn. Get a free edition of an IDE (Visual Studio Express for VB.NET, Eclipse fo Java, etc) and start following the tutorials in the book.

Deitel makes a great beginning programming book called "Simply VB.NEt" and it takes a tutorial approach, allowing you to follow along and create several different programs as you go.

Basically, the best way to learn to code is to jump in and start coding. But it is crucial to learn best practices, as well as control structures, so you don't make a bunch of spaghetti code.

Good luck and happy coding.
Reply:No matter what you pick, w3schools.com is the best way. Clean and simple. They have a huge list of things you can learn.

Oh... it's free ;-)
