Where can I find software for programming in basic like commodore 64 did?

I want to write a program that I could then run on my Acer laptop. What would this software be called? And I have checked some into Commodore emulators but failed to find what I want.

There are tons of books that will teach you programming. I am sure that some of them are in the library in your town or school. You can also buy them at Amazon and similar places. Try Visual Basic rather than pure basic; it's a lot easier to pick up.

Reply:ccs64 no good for you? (it is an emulator, but I dont know which ones you tried)
Reply:try searching for commodore 64 emulators (on google or yahoo or slashdot.org if your brave)
Reply:check this site for the compiler that suites your project best..i would suggest Windows Visual Basic Express: http://www.thefreecountry.com/compilers/...
