i'm trying to learn a programming language and i don't know which language is better to find a job and what does the market need, i heard that most of the programs are going to india so does anyone have experiance in this field.
What is the best programming language to learn these days?
Programming these days is pretty much evenly split between the J2EE (Java) and .NET (Microsoft) platforms.
Learning either Java or C# (the dominant language in .NET) is probably your best bet. The languages are actually very similar.
If you like programming, don't be dissuaded by the "threat" of offshore outsourcing. Because outsourcing has real limitations, there will be always be a strong programming industry in the U.S.
Reply:Well, I don't know what software languages they use in India, but generally speaking you can't really go wrong with C, or more usually, nowadays, C++. There's been so many tools and libraries developed for it, and so much in the way of support sites for it, that it's almost the 'lingua franca' of the software world.
Reply:I'd would have recommended c++\c if we had lived 5-7 years ago.
But today there are better options.
A good language to start with, just to get the idea can be "python"
After that you might want to use "Java" or "C#".
The advantage of these languages, is the rich API they provide, and the fact that they are what is called "managed" which means that the program does some of the hard work for you.
Once you've tried a good managed language, you cant go back..
So lets summerize:
- Start with a simple easy script language like python.
- When you get the hang of it try "Java" or "C#"
- try to avoid c\pascal when you start. if you really want to know them, do it later.
