What is the best programming book to buy for a beginner programmer?

i like working with computers and the money is in Computer Progamming and that is probably what i will take in College but i don't know anything about it i was looking for a book that will explain it all.

What is the best programming book to buy for a beginner programmer?
I would recommend you start with the .Net langauge like C# because it is the new language and every one in IT wants to learn about it. It is also alot eaiser than C++. I would not suggest learning C++ because it is very hard to learn. To get a book just to go a technical book shop and search for title with langauge you want to learn like "programing with C# for beginner" or simply just HTML. You can also search on the internet.
Reply:One of those "for dummies" books I think it's called c++ for dummies
Reply:What language?
Reply:Since most of today's popular programming languages like Java, Javascript, ASP, C#, Actionscript are all based on C++, I would start C++ computer language. Learn this language and every other language should be a piece of cake.

I majored in Computer Science in college. In 1st year, we all started with C++.

If you are not sure, browse through a Dummies book. If you are close to entering college, then I wouldn't waste too much money on books, as you will use different books in college.

Amazon is a great source for books,if you want to read reviews and buy a book. It's difficult to learn a computer language from scratch, when you are not in a classroom setting with assignments and projects.

If you can, I would focus your studies in web programming languages like C#. If you can program in a .Net environment, you will get a job fast. Of course, that is the way the market is now. Who knows what it will be like after you gradudate from college.
