What programming language would I use to write a folder synchronizing program?

I want to write a program that synchronizes folders so that it compares folder A with folder B and compares the two to make a copy C that has the most up to date information. Any help would be appreciated.

What programming language would I use to write a folder synchronizing program?
well, should start with what languages you are familiar with i guess, and then what platform will this be on. a scripting language should work fine i think, use perl on unix or linux, maybe just a batch script or vb script on windows? i dunno, just a thought... also, i think there is stuff out there that does this, in fact, windows has this built in doesnt it? with offline folders and syncronization? i would look into that too.
Reply:java
Reply:What environment? In unix I would say a shell script.
