What jobs are available for a computer programming graduate?
Start doing searches in Yahoo Hot Jobs, monster.com, etc. Also, look for internships now that may land you a position once you graduate.
Reply:Cleaning Toilets
Reply:Wow. There are so many possibilities.

Embedded systems: there are 50-100 computers in any new car, including one in each air bag, and they all need programs. (Take extra eng courses.)

Web development, game development, and all the usual "applications."

Tools, including compilers, operating systems, test frameworks, middleware, networking, and development environments. (Take extra CS courses.)

Business apps, including order management, inventory, planning, finance, and lots of "enterprise" miscellany. (Take extra business courses.)

Scientific, including fluid flow, statistics, medical imaging, protein folding, computational chemistry, crash test simulation, oil exploration, genome analysis, image analysis, signal processing, circuit simulation, and endless others. (Take extra science and math courses.)

This barely scratches the surface. Professional magazines contain articles that show what people are doing, and help wanted ads that show what people are hiring. Spend a weekend in your college library reading the magazines, including EE times, Spectrum, Computer, CACM, and hundreds of others.
