I want to be a hacker, which programming languages should i become proficient in?

I'm not trying to be a black-hat hacker or a cracker. I'm an electrical engineering major at the university of washington and one of my prerequisite courses was computer programming (java). I just got really interested in the whole thing and basically want to become a computer geek :). I also took introductory classes in html and C++ in high school (like 4 years ago), which other languages should I look in to?

It takes more than just programming languages to be a "hacker". You need to learn security, networking, etc. Best bet if you want to be a hacker then you need to learn to be self-taught and self-motivated and pick you up a couple of books on hacking at your local Books-A-Million.

Reply:hacking is a art that can be implemented in any language. u have to be a keen computer geek and only a programming student. u see that to hack a system c, c++ or even assembly language are good since they are close to system and fast to do any kind of system hacking. u said that u r good at java. u can also hack through java. see applet. u can use it to know the internals of the client computer if it does not runs in the sandbox. many viruses are made nowadays using applets.
