I bought a phone in Vietnam and I really like it, but I think it's from Taiwan and I don't want all of the Chinese language support on it. The phone doesn't really have a brand name I don't think, but the front says "MPEG4". It's got a USB port and I can use it as a storage device, so it seems like there should be a way to change the programming. Is there?
Any way to change the programming on a cell phone?
probably not.
Take it to your carrier, they might have software for it.. but due to some "fun stuff" your carriers software might disable some kool features on the phone.
if you are in europe, the software will be fair, and not disable anything, unless they are unfamiliar.
in the us, evenif they hcould do the right thing, they wont.
The only way YOU could program it is if it was linux.
or you have some serious cell phone knowledge, which i dont know about lol
Reply:MPEG4 is a file format which is played by most of the new phones... that is so not the name of the phone... there must be some sorta make written on the back of the phone underneath the battery... if you cant find anything there... go to your nearest dealer or somebody.. if you can find any information that helps you in identifying hte name of the cell phone .... then can search on the net for softwares that can help you in flashing it and you can find an english version of it too... most of the tiawan and chinese and japs phone dont have their english version... thats why ppl in my country (pakistan) dont buy them at all cuz its pretty useless..
